Not only was she the first woman to join the Bauhaus's metal workshop, at a time when female students were relegated to the school's weaving classrooms—but within four years Marianne Brandt is also a very important figure in the Bauhaus movement as she was the first woman to be accepted into the Bauhaus metal workshop in 1924.
